Store the stabilizer strips by rolling them on a paper roll

I denna tredje del av serien om Handdukar, så kommer jag visa hur man kan göra en flexibel ram med hål för ”Embossing” broderi. Eftersom jag beskrev ganska noggrant hur man går tillväga i min förra blog så kommer jag här bara visa hur man sätter ihop ramen. Skillnaden mellan den förra ramen och denna är att denna består av olika långa remsor som man sen sätter samman till en ram.

In this third part of towels, I will show you how to make a flexible stabilizer frame with a “cut out area” for "Embossing" embroidery. As I described quite detailed on how to proceed in my last blog, I will only show how to assemble the frame in this blog. The difference between the previous frame and this is that this one consists of strips in different length that you then assemble into a frame.

Börja med att göra remsor av ”fusible backing” – dvs. backing med klistersida. Stryk på ett tunt bomullstyg. Skär dem absolut raka och använd gärna linjal och rullkniv.

Start by making the strip of "fusible backing – i.e. backing with an adhesive side. Iron on a thin cotton fabric. Cut them absolutely straight, and please use a ruler and rotary cutter.

 

Markera ut mitten och här bör du tänka på att broderbågarnas mitt inte är helt i mitten så använd bågen så du får lika mycket kvar uppe som nere. Dra sen ett streck med en permanent penna.

Check out the middle and here you should be aware that the middle marks of the hoops are not completely in the middle - use the hoop as a guide so you will have equally much fabric on both sides of the hoop. Draw a line with a permanent pen.

Printa ut en pappers ”template” på designen du ska använda. Klipp ut nära kanterna på designen men lämna ett lite utrymme. Lägg den på en skärmatta med linjer. Ta nytta av ”mittlinjer” eller linjer vid en siffra du kommer ihåg. Ha dessutom en liten marginal runt. Lägg remsorna i rak linje runt ”templaten” av designen, sätt en lite tejpbit för att hålla på plats.

Print a "template" of the design you will use. Cut it out close to the edges of the design, leave some space. Place the template on a cutting mat with lines. Take advantage of "the lines" and put the middle lines on a line you will have as a reference. Add the strips in a straight line around the "template" of the design; add a little piece of tape to hold in place. Also leave some space around the design.

När du är klar kan du exempelvis använda en häftklammer och häfta ihop. Sätt klammern på avstånd från var du tänker sy!! Du kan ju även sy ihop dem. Passa in ramen i bågen med hjälp av linjerna.  Mät ut storleken på den öppna mittytan och lägg till 1-2 cm utanför det. Detta blir den storlek du ska stygnsätta din ”tråckelram” basting frame.

When finished, you could use staples to keep pieces together. Put the staple on the distance from where you intend to sew! Or you could sew the pieces together. Measure the size of the cut out area, and add 10-20 mm beyond it. This will be the size you should digitize your basting frame.

Sätt fast ramen i bågen. Passa in linjerna med markeringarna i bågen.

Hoop the frame and use the drawn lines to position in the hoop.

När du sytt klar och vill ta isär ramen, använder du bara en klammer borttagare.

When you have finished the embroidery and want to pull the frame apart you just remove the staples with the staple remover.
