Sätt dit baksidestyget genom att försiktigt skjuta in det under bågen. Ta hjälp av en tunn pinne eller linjal. Se även till att tyget kommer i rätt läge så att det täcker det område som det ska. Innan ska du använda dig av klippfunktionen på din maskin, om det finns en sådan, så att undertråden är avskuren - annars sätter tråden ”stopp”. Du kan naturligtvis ta bort bågen och fästa baksidestyget med tillfälligt limspray.

Insert the fabric on the back fabric by carefully sliding it in under the hoop. It is easy to do if you use a thin ruler. Make sure the fabric covers the area of the circle. Before that you should use the cutting function, if your machine has such, so that the bobbin thread is cut off - otherwise there will be a “stop”. You can of course remove the hoop and fasten the fabric at the back with temporary adhesive spray.

Sy sömmen som fäster baksidestyget på mellanlägget.

Embroider the seam that fastens the fabric at the back.

Ta bort broderbågen från maskinen men ta inte bort tyget. Använd en sax avsedd för att klippa applikationer. Klipp tätt intill den sydda sömmen på både fram och baksida. Sätt tillbaka broderbågen i maskinen.

Remove the hoop from the machine, but do not remove the fabric. Use an appliqué scissors. Cut the front and back fabric close to the sewn line. Put the hoop back in the machine.

Brodera Sicksack sömmen för att “försegla” kanterna.

Embroider the Zigzag stitches to seal the edges.

Embroider the Satin stitches to seal the edges.

Ta ut det färdiga Kaffemuggsunderlägget från bågen och klipp bort överflödigt mellanlägg. Lös upp resterande mellanlägg i ljummet vatten (lite sköljmedel i vattnet påskyndar processen). Låt torka och pressa med framsidan nedåt på en frottéhandduk (eller emellan). På så sätt kommer du inte att platta till Satin sömmen så mycket.

Remove the finished Coaster from the hoop and cut away the stabilizer. Dissolve the remaining stabilizer in lukewarm water (a little fabric softener in the water speeds up the process). Let dry and press with front side down on a terry towel (or between). That way you will not flatten the Satin seam that much.

Vill man kan man som jag nämnde i början göra mellanlägg som “bara” är quiltade på fram- och baksida. Kaffemuggsunderlägget med rutmönstret är ett sådant.
Det enda du behöver ändra på förutom att inte ta med steget med texten är att; ändra ordningen på steg 4 och 5, d.v.s. innan stippling eller rutmönster sys så lägger man dit baksidestyget och på så sätt sys ”quiltningen” genom alla lager.

If you want you can, as I mentioned at the beginning do Coasters which "only" are quilted on the front and back. The “crosshatch” Coaster is such an example.
All you need to change except from omitting the step with the text is; change the order of steps 4 and 5, i.e. before the stippling or “crosshatch”. Then the "quilting" will be done through all layers.
