Bird houses

Eftersom våren närmar sig med stormsteg är det dags att se över våra vänner småfåglarnas hus. Vi har plockat ner, gjort rent samt fräschat upp ett antal fågelholkar. Förhoppningsvis faller några i smaken och vi får nöjet att se små fågelungar flyga ut.

With spring approaching it is time to review the bird houses. We’ve taken down, cleaned and painted a number of bird houses. Hopefully a few of them will appeal to the birds and maybe we can watch their “babies” when they fly for the first time.

Vi har även koltrastar på tomten och jag tycker de är så charmiga och sjunger så vackert. Sen blir det ju inte sämre för att de är så vackert svarta i färgen. Nu vet jag ju i och för sig inte om koltrastar bor i någon holk, men jag tyckte att denna ”in-the-hoop” design var så charmig och eftersom jag gillar koltrastar så fick fågeln bli svart.

We also have blackbirds in the garden and I think they're so charming and they also sing so beautiful. Then the fact that they have a beautiful colour – black – doesn’t make things worse.  Now I don’t think blackbirds live in a bird’s house, but I thought that this "in-the-hoop" design was so charming and because I like blackbirds I made the bird in black fabric.

Jag tycker även den matchar min hållare för post – även den med en koltrast. Den ska faktiskt få hänga i hallen direkt när man kommer in rakt över skoskåpet där hållaren för post står.

I also think it matches my holder for mail - also with a blackbird. I will put it in the hall right after one enters directly above the shoe cabinet where the holder for the mail stands.
