Lace with a modern twist - part 5

Jag lägger samman två tygbitar med en tunn vadd emellan. Jag funderade länge på om jag skulle ha svart tyg eller någon annan färg. Men till slut så blev det vitt. Sen pressade jag ”tyg/vadd” med ånga så att vadden plattades till lite. Sen vek jag ”tyg/vadd” mitt itu så jag fick en vikt botten.

I put together two pieces of fabric with a thin batting in between. I had a hard time deciding if I would have a black fabric or some other color. But in the end it turned out to be a white fabric. Then I press “the fabric sandwich” with steam so that the batting will flatten a bit. Fold in half so that the bottom is folded.

Sen gör jag likadant med spetsen, d.v.s. viker den på mitten så jag får en vikt botten. Se till att motiven ligger exakt på varandra.

Then I do the same thing with the lace, that is, fold in half so that the bottom is folded. Make sure the motifs are exactly on top of each other.

Sen lägger jag in den vikta ”tyg/vadd” biten i spetshöljet. Se till att den går ända ner i botten.

I then put the folded ”fabric sandwich” into the folded lace. Make sure it goes all the way down to the folded bottom.

Se till att broderierna fortfarande ligger precis ovanpå varandra. Lättast är att sticka en knappnål genom tyglagren och se att det möts på samma ställe på bägge sidor.

Make sure that the embroideries still remains exactly on "top of each other". The easiest way is to stick a pin through the fabric layers and see that it meets the same position on both sides.

Lägg en liten bit Vliesofix under spetsmotivet och stryk fast. Gör likadant på andra sidan. Fäst Vliesofix med strykjärnet.

Pressa med ånga och ha en duk emellan. Se till att du bara lyfter och pressar med strykjärnet så de olika tyglagren inte flyttas ur position.

Add a small piece of fusible web under the non-transparent parts of the lace motif and iron. Do the same on the other side. Iron to fuse the lace and the fabric together.

Press with steam, use a cloth in between the "tulle/fabic" layers and the iron. Make sure you just lift and press so that the layers stays in place.

Mät enligt de mått du fick på pappersbiten. Nåla och prova med mobilen så att "passformen" fortfarande är bra.

Measure according to the dimensions you had on the piece of paper. Pin and try the phone so that it still fits well.

Sen skär man rent enligt måtten. Det kan vara bra att sätta några nålar så att spetsen hålls på plats, men sätt inte nålarna där du skär. OBS! glöm inte att när du skär så ska "sömsmånen" vara inkluderad i måtten.

Then you cut according to measures. You may want to put a few pins so that the lace is held in place, but do put the pins where you cut. Please remember that the "seam allowance" must be included in the measurements, so make sure they are before you cut.
