Quilted Mosaic - 8

Now I have finally finished with my table runner. I am so happy.

This table runner is almost sewn entirely ITH (in-the-hoop). All center parts are made in a 240x150 mm embroidery hoop.

The design is from a mini collection from Husqvarna Viking called ”Mosaic Mini Collection”.
I thought for a while if I would have the binding in the same fabric as the appliqués but I decided I would like to use the same fabric as in the table runner.
I have used my Embroidery Software (in this case, I used 6 D Embroidery Extra) and Quilt Block Wizard to make the quilting. But that feature also exists in the new Embroidery Software Premier + Ultra. Absolutely fantastic - easy and so good results.

Do you want to know how I did and how you yourself can make a similar table runner so I have described the process in a number of blog posts. Enjoy and good luck.

  3. Lotta, I used the echo fill around a round design just like yours, but there were tiny small tangles of thread on the front at a few points where it tied off, and also more on the back. Something about the way the quilt block wizard made this fill. Did you have the same problem and if not did you have to tweak the fill design to avoid it?

  4. Hi Carol

I didn't tweak the design other than setting a bit longer stitch length. There are some tiny dots where the tie on tie off is. But hardly noticeable. Also when doing quilt patterns I turn off the jump stitch and automatic thread cutter. That way I can cut and hide the thread ends inside the block. When starting I always pull up the bobbin thread.

  7. Your embroidery motif really sets of the table runner! Very nice echo quilting, too.
